Recently Completed Puzzles!
and by recent I mean in the last six months!
first up we have a couple of vintage puzzles that we found in an estate sale. Bought an old brass storage box containing 11 puzzles. I pulled them out and they were a bit musty (some more than others) ... I've worked two of them so far. Both were complete although the horse puzzle had one piece that was damaged. As you can see, the horse puzzle box is pretty foxy.

Pomegranate - Gregory Blackstock's 'The World Landmark Buildings' - 500 pieces. Took me around three hours. Edges were the hardest but simply sorted them into shapes and tested ...

Jubilee Puzzle #3
Schmidt Puzzles - 'High Up' - 1500 pieces.
Only took a few days ... nice regular pieces with just enough variation to make the harder parts (sky/water) easier. Puzzles with lots of linear features seem, to me at least, to be quite easy. The toothbrush in some of the photos is the 'secret symbol' to qualify the puzzle for the Jubilee contest.

New Puzzles!
my New Years resolution of not buying puzzles, games, books, or stamps only lasted as long having extra disposable income ... I suppose there are worse ways to spend it ... anyway the following puzzles arrived recently, mostly bought after a Facebook discussion of the high quality of Pomegranate Puzzles (plus I love their subject matter). Actually, the last one, The Druids, has been in my collection for a couple of years. It was purchased in the retail store ...

More Black & White Puzzles
Educa produced a series of black and white puzzles, as did Eurographics (possibly the same company?). Here are some images of puzzles borrowed off of Amazon. I especially like the Lisbon 1500 piece puzzle ... straight onto my wish list!
Country Romance by Educa
Still working on Jubilee puzzle #1 ... and finally approaching closure, but as is so often the case, the last couple of hundred pieces are the hardest and this was a hard puzzle to begin with!
Anyhow, I started a second puzzle to give myself some relief ... and picked another hard one! Country Romance by Educa is one of their black & white series. Usually they have one or two bits of color and then the rest is black and white and gray and gray and gray ... As you can see, I have the easy part done.

new puzzles ...
Sometime last year I backed a kickstarter from Bone Owl Puzzles ... I recently received the puzzles. Turns out I accidentally ordered two of the same and left one out ... when I posted pics on facebook and mentioned that, Allison Tanner of Bone Owl offered to send me the missing one ... for free!! Pretty amazing! I haven't started one of the puzzles yet but I will keep everyone posted!
